MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The inauguration ceremony of the 10th President of the Federal Government of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who won the country’s presidential election on the 15th of last month, is set to take place in Mogadishu on Thursday.
The inauguration ceremony of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud will take place today at the Aficio Tent in Mogadishu, where the final preparations for the inauguration ceremony are underway.
Various leaders have been invited to the inauguration of the country’s 10th President, including the President of Djibouti, Ismail Omar Guelleh, the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed.
Others are the Prime Minister of Egypt, the Vice President of South Sudan, and other heads of state.
Representatives from Turkey, UAE, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Malaysia, the Arab League, and Representatives of the International Community will also be attending the event.
The event will also be attended by Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble, former Presidents of Somalia, former Prime Ministers of Somalia, heads of regional states and other dignitaries.
The security of Mogadishu has been tightened and a curfew has been imposed on Mogadishu.
As the curfew was imposed on the city last night, several mortar shells hit parts of Mogadishu, killing and injuring several people.
