MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – A huge fire broke out in Bakaro market on Saturday night and destroyed property worth thousands of US dollars.
The fire is said to have started in one stall and spread fast to others in the busy area.
Authorities said they could not ascertain the cause of the fire or the real value of the damage.
But market traders blamed an electrical fault.
Firefighters eventually put out the fire which sent hundreds of people fleeing across the streets of Somali capital’s commercial hub.
