CAIRO (Halbeeg News) – Egyptian government has pledged to support Somalia’s fight against al-Shabaab fighters amid the group intensified counter attacks against the government forces in south-central Somalia.
Following a meeting in Cairo, foreign Ministers of Somalia and Egypt, Abshir Omar Jama and Sameh Shoukry respectively agreed the countries to cooperate on military sector.
The countries also agreed to collaborate in the war against terror groups in both countries.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister said that his Government affirmed its full support for Somalia in efforts to combat terrorism and increase the effects of the drought.
Shoukry expressed his government’s desire to enhance cooperation between the two countries in light of the historical relations that unite them.
