(Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has met with African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) Deputy Force Commander Fiona Lortan and ATMIS Force Commander.
The Prime Minister thanked the ATMIS leadership and administration for their role in ensuring the security of the country’s parliamentary and presidential elections.
Roble urged them to intensify their peacekeeping mission in the country.
The meeting comes amid reports that Burundi soldiers working under African Union Transitional Mission vacated the bases in Middle Shabelle region.
Al-Shabaab fighters this month killed more than 30 soldiers from Burundi.
