KYIV (Halbeeg News) – At least twelve Somali nationals are among thousands of people stranded in Ukrainian capital Kyiv as the war between Russia and Ukraine is intensifying.
Abdiqani Mayow Mohamed who spoke to the media said hundreds Somalis and Africans troop towards Ukrainian border with Poland.
The development comes days after Somali government announced the evacuation assistance for Somali nationals living in Ukraine.
Somali government had advised all Somali nationals including students to contact the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Brussels and in Berlin for evacuation assistance.
The Federal Government of Somalia said it was working to establish evacuation routes for Somali nationals stranded in Ukraine and to provide essential consular services.
The government urged Somali nationals to be vigilant, and to carry with them their national identification documents.
