BELEDWEYNE (Halbeeg News) – The elections of six seats in the Lower House of Somalia’s Federal Parliament will today take place in Beledweyne town of Hiraan region, the poll agency confirmed.
According to a statement by Hirshabelle’s State Election Implementation Team, the registration of the candidates and training of the electoral delegates were conducted late last week.
The election of the seat which was to be held yesterday was delayed due to technical difficulties.
“Hirshabelle State Electoral Implementation Team (SEIT) would like to inform all Somalis and candidates that the election is scheduled to take place Saturday has been postponed due to technical issues,” the poll team said.
The seats whose election would be held today are HOP 006, HOP 022, HOP 003, HOP 032, HOP 252, and HOP 068.
Somalia is expected to complete its Lower House elections late next month.
