MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – A delegation led by Hirshabelle state leader Ali Abdullahi Gudlaaweis is today expected to travel to Beledweyne town of Hiraan region, the first trip by Gudlawe to the town since late 2020 when he was elected as Hirshabelle president.
According to multiple sources at Gudlaawe office, the leader will be spearheading the process to hold parliamebtary elections which are scheduled to kick off soon in Beledweyne town.
The security of the town has been beefed up as hundreds of soldiers were deployed In the neighbourhoods.
The development days after a ministerial committee appointed to mediate HirShabelle state government and leaders of rival forces in Beledweyne town reached Jowhar town.
The committee has been working with Hirshabelle authorities and Beledweyne Elders, Politicians and Intellectuals in a bid to defuse the crisis and find a solution to the conflict.
The team by Somali Interior Minister Muktar Husein Afrah has reached a deal with Hirshabelle President Gudlawe to ease the situation and extend olive branch to the rivals.
