ADDIS ABAB (Halbeeg News) – The leader of Puntland state, Saed Abdullahi Deni has met with Ethiopia’s Finance minister, Ahmed Shide in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa following his visit in Ethiopia
In a Twitter post, the leader said he discussed with the minister over Puntland’s relationship with Ethiopia’s Somali regional State as well Ethiopia.
“It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, in Addis Ababa. We discussed a number of topics incl. strengthening cooperation & partnership to address security & private sector development between Puntland/Somalia and Ethiopia,” he said.
Deni has been in Addis Ababa town for the last two days to hold meeting with Ethiopian leaders.
Puntland state which shares a border with Ethiopia’s Somali Regional State has been inviting leaders from Ethiopia for bilateral discussions.
The visit comes just months after Ethiopian Airlines Group launched flight to Garowe, Somalia, via Bossaso following discussion with the country’s leaders.
The relations between Somalia and Ethiopia has been getting strength since Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed came to power in 2018.
Ethiopia, a landlocked country is planning to use several ports in East Africa countries’ including Somalia, Djibouti, and Kenya.
