MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Mogadishu mayor, Omer Mohamud Mohamed Filish said his administration is committed to re-open closed roads in Somali capital.
Previously Government had closed several roads aimed at improving the security of city.
In a statement, the mayor appointed ten member committee to assess and worked on the re-opening of the roads.
According to the state, the committee led by deputy governor of Benadir region for security affairs, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed will chart plans for the procedures.
Among the members are heads of Benadir Police and Intelligence Agencies.
Last Month, after assuming the office, Mayor Omar pledged to work on means beef up security of city and re-opening of the city roads.
Omar was appointed last month by president Mohamed Abdullahi to replace late Abdirahman Omar who succumbed to injuries he sustained during blast at his office last July.
