MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – At least five people including soldiers have been killed and two other injured after Improvised Explosive Devices went off civilian populated area in Dinsor town.
According to sources, the IED suspected to have been concealed in area few minutes after the district of Dinsor left the place.
Among those killed in the blast are three government soldiers and two civilian.
The slain soldiers were bodyguard of the district Commissioner.
Injuries has undergoing treatment in the town’s hospital.
Through their online media, al-Shabaab claimed the responsibility for the bomb saying it targeted the district Commissioner and huge casualties on the government soldiers.
The attack comes barely a month, after the local authorities in the town declared offensive against al-Shabaab.
Speaking at press conference, Dinsor district Commissioner, Ibrahim Mohamed Nur vowed to liberate villages under the control of al.Shabaab.
The DC was welcoming two al-Shabaab fighters who surrendered to government forces.
The two identified as Mohamed Hassan Osman and Hussein Marshale Mohamed defected from al-Shabaab extremist group and handed over their weapons to the government forces.
