MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The Norwegian government will help Somalia to reconstruct and develop its infrastructure.
In a statement by Norwegian Development Ministry, Norway announced that $ 54.3 million which will be used for development in Somalia.
The ministry said the fund is moving to Somalia by various banks under the monitoring of the World Bank.
Norway’s Minister for Development Cooperation Nikolai Astrup has stated his government’s commitment to support Somalia’s rebuilding process.
“We committed to take part in the ongoing efforts to rebuild Somalia, especially infrastructure. This fund will be funneled to different banks via World Bank,” the minister said.
He noted that his government contributes to the reconstruction and development of Somalia’s infrastructure, saying the development fund is intended to counter Somalia’s armed conflicts and other security challenges.
Nikolai Astrup made it clear that his government’s contribution to Somalia would help improve the security, stability, and security of Somalia.
