MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali military court in Baidoa town has today sentenced five suspects to punishment ranging from a death sentence to jai term.
The martial judge, major general Adan Abukar Mohamed has handed three Alshabaab members three years of prison each for smuggling vehicle transporting F1 bombs.
“The court has sat for the charges against the driver, Abdi Yusuf Maalim, the turn boy, Issak barrow and, owner, Mohamed Adan Yusuf for transporting explosive devices, and for being members of the armed group Ashabab. They were sentenced to three years in prison each.” Major Adan said.
The court also sentenced Ex-Somali soldier to death for murder while another soldier who lost his firearm ruled return the weapon.
The court said the convicts would be given chance to appeal against the ruling.
Somali military court has last week executed Mohamed Adan Ali Barrow, Al-Shabaab member who assassinated a famous cleric in Baidoa last year.
Barow was executed by firing squad in Baidoa, the interim administrative capital of Southwest state of Somalia.
He was found guilty by the martial court for killing Sheikh Mader Madgab Aliyow inside Baidoa mosque on 16th of June last year.
