BAIDOA(Halbeeg News)- The voting process of Southwest Presidential elections has started on Wednesday morning in Baidoa.
One hundred and fourth seven members of the regional assembly will decide who will be the next regional leader among five candidates namely Adan Mohamed Nur, Hussein Osman Hussein, Ibrahim Maalim Nunow, Seyid Ahmed Sheikh Dahir and Abdulaziz Hassan Mohamed.
The winner is required to secure two third of the hundred and fourth seven votes of the assembly members and if that does not happen three candidates with majority votes will proceed to the second round of the voting process.
Security has been heightened across the city by Somali security forces backed by AMISOM troops.
A delegation led by Interior minister of Federal Government, Abdi Mohamed Sabriye is overseeing the election process of Southwest.
International observers mainly from the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) are present at the election hall.
