NAIROBI (Halbeeg News) –Kenyan military has killed 24 Al-Shabaab fighters in fierce with the group in Lower Jubba region of Southern Somalia.
Heavily Al-Shabaab fighters have attacked a military manned by Kenyan troops under the framework of AMISOM in Bilis Qoqani village.
The attack happened at around Friday night prompting hours of a gun battle between the Sides.
A military official who spoke the media confirmed the clash between the Sides saying the fighting ended with 24 fatalities while many others escaped with wounds.
He also stated the Kenyan military recovered 25 AK-47 rifles, one PKM machine gun and assorted rounds of ammunition.
Confirming the casualties on Kenyan forces, the officials three soldiers drawn from the Special Operations Regiment (SOR) sustained injuries.
Bilis Qooqaani is a town in the Afmadow district of the Lower Juba region of southern Somalia.
It lies approximately 70 kilometres away from the Kenya-Somali border.
