MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali ministry for finance has directed the federal member states to submit the proposals for the use of funds expected to release by the federal government.
In a statement, Somal Minister for finance, Abdirahman Duale Beileh asked the states to forward financial records and expenditures of the funds released by the exchequer from 1st January and 31st July 2018.
He confirmed that the second tranche of $5 million Surge support financing was disbursed to the Federal Government.
“Following the disbursement by the World Bank to the federal ministry of Finance the tranche of $5 under the surge programme in September 2018,” the statement reads.
The statement says the process was part of the transparency and accountability in the both federal and state government.
Over the past weeks, the ministry has been engaging with the federal member states in a review of the documentation.
“As a result, the federal ministry of finance would like to confirm that it will start to disburse to the federal member states which have met with their transparency and accountability requirements the funding allocated to them under the second tranche of the surge Programme,” the statement said.
