NAIROBI (Halbeeg) – Millions of Kenyans using Safaricom were on Sunday cut off from internet connectivity crippling operations in various offices countrywide.
The subscribers took to Twitter to voice their concerns over the outage, with some complaining they had bought internet bundles several times yet they could not browse the internet.
@Safaricom_Care Now that we're experiencing problems with your network what will happen to our daily bundles that are going down the drain?

In a statement, the company responded hours later attributed the loss of internet connectivity to ‘multiple fibre link cuts which affected critical transmission equipment’.
“This has resulted in the loss of voice and SMS services in the Coast and lower Eastern regions as well as general data unavailability across the network,” Safaricom said in the statement.
The firm informed its customers of the situation through a pre-recorded message on helpline 100.
“We are experiencing internet connectivity issues with our services. We are working to resolve the situation. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the telco said.
Here are some of the sentiments by other Kenyans on Twitter:
