BAIDOA (Halbeeg News) – Heavy fighting between Al-Shabaab fighters and Ethiopian troops who are part of the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) flared up in the town.
The fighting reportedly started with a mortar attack on an Ethiopian military base in Dinsor district, followed by direct fighting between the two sides.
Fighting is reported to be intense with both sides using heavy and light weapons, and there are reports of casualties on both sides, although no official casualties have been confirmed.
Residents of Dinsor district in the Bay region have expressed fears that the fighting will spread to other parts of the town.
