NAIROBI (Halbeeg News)-The French president, Emmanuel Macron has arrived in Kenyan capital, Nairobi on Wednesday.
The visit is first by a French leader in Kenya since the East African country independence in 1963.
President Macron was in Ethiopia and Djibouti earlier on his regional trip where he met leaders and had discussions focusing on investment and security in a contested strategic region.
While in Nairobi the French leader is scheduled to attend U.N. environmental meeting and One Planet Summit with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He said that Kenya is the only African nation to reach the goal of making renewable energy 75 per cent of its energy mix.
The meeting between the two leaders is also expected to discuss security threats faced by Nairobi from Somali based al-Shabaab armed group.
