LONDON ( Halbeeg News)-New UK ambassador to the federal republic of Somalia, Mr Benjamin Fender OBE will take over office next month, according to foreign and commonwealth office.
Mr Ben Fender has been appointed by Her Majesty’s the queen of the United Kingdom as Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia on Wednesday.
He will succeed Mr David Concar, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment as Mr Fender will take up his appointment in February 2019.
The experienced diplomat served his country at different capacity since 1996.
His latest docket was head of security and policy department at the foreign office from 2016 to 2019.
He also served in Iran, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan, France, Palestine, Israel and China as carrier diplomat in different capacities.
The UK relocated its embassy back in Mogadishu on April 2013 after it closed in the early 1990s due to the breakout of the civil war.
