Mogadishu (Halbeeg News) – The newly elected president of the southwest regional state, Abdulaziz Hassan Mohamed has held a meeting with regional security chiefs on Monday.
The regional leader and security heads discussed means to improve security in the state and work towards the liberation of the areas still under the control of al-Shabaab.
President Mohamed’s security meeting comes barely a day after the formation of a fact-finding committee to probe civilians allegedly killed by the security agencies during the protest that followed the arrest of Mukhtar Robow in Baidoa town in December last year.
An organizing committee composed of the regional cabinet members is consolidating to spearhead an event to inaugurate the new president on 26th January.
Senior federal government officials are expected to attend the occasion which will be held in Baidoa, the interim capital of the state administration.
