KISMAYO (Halbeeg News) – The leader of Jubaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islaam [Ahmed Madobe], on Saturday, concluded a training session for the sixth batch of the Jubaland Police Force who received various training.
This batch, which consists of different sections of the Police Force, especially the anti-crime, criminal investigation and anti-riot was trained at the Jubaland Police Academy. About 150 officers are trained.
“These forces are intended to take over the security of the areas that have been liberated from the terrorist groups,” said Ahmed Madobe’s office.
Madobe vowed that his administration will speed up operations to liberate al-Shabaab-controlled areas in the Middle and Lower Jubba regions.
He noted that operations which soon commence in the state will aim at the liberation of Bu’ale, al-Shabaab headquarters in southern Somalia.
“The operations to liberate the areas of Jubaland which has recently started has so far been liberated in the areas of Aw Kumbale, Shandarmood, Eelcad, Gubakibir, Canjeel and Janaa Abdalle and these forces will now operate in those areas liberated by the armed forces,” he said, “The operations that have started will continue as soon as we will liberate all areas under al-Shabaab, especially the capital city of Buale shortly.”
He emphasized that these forces will operate in areas that have been liberated from the al-Shabaab group and will immediately take over the responsibility of security from the armed forces.
