MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – African Union has welcomed the recapture of three towns by Somali National Army (SNA)
In a statement, the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (SRCC) and Head of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), Mohamed El-Amine Souef, congratulates Somali Security Forces on the liberation of El-Dheer, Harardheere, Galcad and Hiindheere towns.
“ATMIS will continue to provide the needed support to ensure Somalia is free of terrorism and related activities,” said Souef. “Al-Shabaab has lost ground and together with our Somali brothers we will continue to rid these Khawarij terrorists from Somalia to give the population security, stability and peace which are important to economic and social development.”
In the last 24 hours, the Somali National Army in collaboration with the locals has recaptured the strategic towns of Harardhere, Gal’ad and El Dher in Galmudug State.
These three areas have been strongholds for the Al-Shabaab for the past decade, with this victory signaling the imminent end of the Al Shabaab menace and the birth of a new, terror-free Somalia.
The Somali Government and its citizens have been collaborating in a popular uprising against the terror group which has been behind runaway lawlessness, instability, destruction and bloodshed in advancing its selfish causes.
