The officials said that more than 3000 Somali citizens shared information with the government authorities, saying that the terrorists extort the people by force, and the information helped in the closure of the accounts and numbers.
On Saturday, the Somali Army with the help of the locals has taken over the El-Huur area under the district of Harardhere in the southern region of Mudug.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre said last Wednesday that since the offensive began in July Somali security forces have killed more than 2,000 of the militants.
