Mogadishu (Halbeeg News) – Somalia has urged United Nations (UN) to the operations against al-Shabaab in the horn of the African nation.
According to Villa Somalia, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with UN chief Antonio Guterres on the margins of the Arab League Summit in Algiers, Algeria.
Both leaders discussed the Somalia government’s efforts in fighting international terrorism and responding to the humanitarian crisis, drought, plus climate change impacts.
Somali forces in collaboration with local clan militias launched operations against al-Shabaab fighters in south-central Somalia.
The allied forces liberated dozens of villages and towns in the Hiiraan and Galgadud regions.
