MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Dozens of people in Qardho in northern Somalia, were left homeless after their houses were flooded following heavy rains in Karkaar hills.
Sections of roads became impassable due to the flash floods which had, however, abated by Saturday afternoon.
Residents rushing to work had to wade through flooded sections of the town.
According to Qardho district commissioner, Abdi Saed, an elderly man died after he drowned.
Efforts to evacuate people stranded in the floods are underway.
