Nairobi (Halbeeg News) – Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto has surpassed the 1 million provisional vote mark, closely followed by Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
The provisional results broadcasted by forms 34A from polling stations have shown that Ruto has hit 1 million votes, closely followed by archrival Raila Odinga.
TUKO.co.ke earlier stated that Ruto arrived at Kosachei Primary School with his wife to cast their vote.
Deputy presidential candidate Rigathi Gachagua arrived at Sagana Primary School polling centre accompanied by his wife Dorcas Rigathi, their sons and his aunt to exercise their constitutional right.
On the other hand, Raila and his family left his Karen home in a flashy convoy for Kibra to cast his vote at Old Kibra Primary School polling station.
“We have done our best in terms of campaign and the ball is the people’s courts and I believe they are going to speak well in favour of the democratic change,” Raila exuded confidence.
TUKO.co.ke reported that Martha Karua, the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition party deputy president-designate arrived at Mugumo polling station in Gichugu constituency, Kirinyaga county, to cast her vote.
Ruto nominated Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate, while the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga settled on former Guchugu MP Martha Karua.
Both camps have exuded confidence that they will win, saying that they did their best in the campaigns and mobilising people to vote for them. TUKO
