BOSOSO (Halbeeg News) – Puntland Armed Forces Court has condemned four Al-Shabaab militants to death on Tuesday after being found guilty of a series of bombings and assassinations in Bosaso, as well as being part of the ISIS and Al-Shabaab networks,
The four pleaded guilty in court on Monday to accusations that included an assassination attempt on the Puntland Head of State in Bosaso in February.
According to the court, the fur planted Improvised Explosive on a road is expected to be used Puntland state leader’s motorcade. The blast hit of the vehicles that were escorting the leader, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers and four others were injured.
The convicts were identified as Ayub Omar Shire, Jama Adan Tusbahle, Abdullahi Salad Booos Mohange and Mohamed Abshir Muse Olyo.
The four men also admitted to the March 2019 assassination of traditional elder Bashir Muse Konte inside a mosque in Bosaso, as well as the recent assassination of two top election officials in the same town.
According to the court, the four first carried out their terrorist acts in the name of ISIS before switching allegiance to Al-Shabaab.
