MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Minister of Finance Abdirahman Beileh Bayle has held talks with the US Ambassador to Somalia, Larry André in Mogadishu.
According to a statement by the Somali ministry for finance, they discussed the state of Somalia’s economic reforms.
During the meeting, minister Bayle thanked US govdrnment, saying the United States strongly supported the economic reforms that Somalia has undergone in recent years.
The US government has urged the new government of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to prioritize the development of security forces to take full responsibility for security from the ATMIS peacekeeping mission.
International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recently agreed to extend its financial assistance program to Somalia, following the conclusion of the country’s presidential election.
