MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has called on members of both houses of parliament to prepare a processs to hold universal suffrage next elections.
The prime minister made the remarks during Twitter Spaces session.
“The current election process which is not good for the country. We all know what had happened. How this kind of the elections led to recurrent political wrangling between the leaders. Indirect elections are not sustainable for the nation,” said Prime Minister Roble.
Roble also expressed concern over the security of the country, saying that the country was in the worst security situation.
He blamed unnamed officials for the security laxity, saying that those responsible to strengthen preoccupied with electoral interests.
The leader called on the people of Somalia to work together for the peace and stability of the country.
Meanwhile, Roble held Iftar meeting with the new Speaker of the Lower House Sheikh Adan Madobe in Mogadishu.
During the meeting, Roble congratulated the new Speaker, urging the leader accelerate the lower house operations.
Roble also thanked former interim speaker Abdisalan Dhaban’ad who also participated in the meeting.
