MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – A well known Somali comedian, Abdi Muridi Dheere aka Ajakis whose work bought laughter to many Somalis in and outside the country has today died after short illness in Mogadishu.
The farces of Ajikis have dominated the airwaves for many years with puting many Somalians their faces smile.
In recent years, Ajakis has been working with London Somali television, Universal TV.
According to the statement, the station confirmed the death Ajakis, saying Ajakis died at a hospital in Mogadishu where he had been undergoing treatment for a while.
The cause of the death of Ajakis is not yet officially confirmed.
He was among the pioneers of Al-Faghi company which specialised in dubbing Hindi movies into Somali language.
The movies have been favourite for Somalis for many years.
In a statement, Somali president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has condoled with the family of the deceased Ajakis,
“President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo has extended condolences to family, relatives and Somali people on the death of Abdi Muridi Dheere,” the statement reads in part.
