MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The new Prime Minister of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble held a high-profile meeting with the members of the diplomatic corps in the country.
The significant meeting held at the office of the premier inside the highly fortified official residence was attended by UN special representative in the country ambassador James Swan and his Africa union and head of AMISOM counterpart ambassador Nicholas Madeira.
The meeting focused on boosting relations between the two sides particularly on strengthening cooperation in key areas including security, economic development, and other institutional reforms.
“I held an informative meeting with members of the diplomatic community in my office. We emphasized the need to deepen ties towards the completion of ongoing reforms in security, economy, institutional rebuilding, reconciliation, constitutional review, elections, and other priorities.” The office of the PM tweeted.
The talks come a day after the new Prime Minister took office from the acting premier who was also Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid.
Prime Minister Roble pledged to prioritize international relations as one of his key eight agendas during the reign in office.
