MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Guled Adam Abdi, a young boy from central Somalia has secured Turkish education scholarship thanks to his fascination with building electric toys from trash.
According to a twitter post by Merhaba Afrika, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has reached out the boy and made the pledge.
Guled will be hosted by Turkish minister for tourism, Mehmed Nuri as he will have meeting with Selcuk Bayraktar head of Turkey’s indigenous unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
The move was welcomed by Sharmarke Garaad, a Somali federal lawmaker saying the decision by Turkish government to offer scholarship the boy would him meet his bright future.
“Great thanks to the Government of Turkey for its continued support to Somalia and its people. Immensely grateful to TIKA for offering a scholarship to Guleid Adan Abdi to develop his talent further,” said Garaad.
The young boy from Buhudle town has amazed the netizens with his electronic inventions after video clip was posted on social media.
Guled from Somalia has built electronic toy planes and trucks, and affirmed that he has the place hope to make real in future.
