BARDALE ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Six people were killed following an accident by a cargo plane near Bardale in the Southwest state of Somalia on Monday.
According to Southwest transport and aviation minister, all people on board Kenya registered planes E120 were killed.
They were two pilots, a flight engineer and three other occupants.
The nationality of the victims is still unconfirmed.
The plane which is owned by an African express company crashed few minutes before landing.
The cause of the accident is still unclear but according to sources, it was hit by a flying object at about 2300 feet above the sea level.
According to regional officials, investigations are ongoing as to why the flight transporting medical supplies crashed.
Air accidents are very rare in Somalia through several air crafts mainly cargo planes crash-landed in Mogadishu main airport with no fatalities following the failure of the landing gear.
