DARESALAM ( Halbeeg News) – The Federal Government of Somalia has called upon Africa-Nordic member states to focus more on investment of tourism and natural resource.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Amb. Ahmed Isse Awad attended the 18th African-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ meeting held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Friday.
The two days discussed ways to promote peace, security, trade, and investment and was attended by more than 29 African countries and Nordic countries such as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland.
During his address, Ahmed Isse Awad, the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister, Ahmed Isse Awad called on Nordic countries for strategic partnership in tourism and investment, saying that Somalia is virgin country rich in natural resources, fisheries, fertile agricultural lands as well as livestock while noting that benefiting from its resource will end unemployment and violence.
The Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers’ Meeting is an important annual forum for informal and open-minded discussions between Africa and the Nordic countries.
