MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Minister for Finance, Abdirahman Duale Beileh has today held meeting with the Vice president of World in Mogadishu.
A delegation led by Vice President of the World Bank, Hafiz Ghanim has arrived in Mogadishu today.
Ghanim and other officials from World Bank welcomed by Somali Minister for Finance.
The delegates were ushered to the new office of the World in the city where the inauguration ceremony of the office was underway
The World Bank official commissioned the opening of the new World Bank offices in Mogadishu which re-established for the first time since 1992.
Minister Beileh and Ghanim held talks over the country’s efforts to reform its economy and the support of the Bank.
“It was an honour to welcome @HafezGhanem_WB VP @WorldBankAfrica & his delegation to #Somalia today. During this historic visit, the delegation met with @SomaliPM & @MofSomalia senior staff, entrepreneurs & Pres. @M_Farmaajo.The Bank also opened its office! We are making progress,” said the minister in Twitter post.
On his side, Ghanim commended the Somali government for its commitment to improving the security and economy.
“Today, I visited Somalia for the first time and saw the efforts that the government and the people are making to bring peace and security back to their country. We WorldBank are proud to walk alongside Somalia on this reform journey,” Ghanim said.
