BELEDWEYN ( Halbeeg News) – President, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has directed various government agencies to speed up humanitarian efforts to help victims of flooding in the country.
Farmajo was speaking during his visit to Beledweyn in Hiran region which is one of the most affected area on Saturday evening.
Accompanied by various government officials the President toured several locations in the city by walking inside the water in an effort to assess the damages caused by the calamaty.
The head of state condoled with the families of all victims who lost their lives in the tragedy.
” We came here to share the grief with you and condole with you.” The President said.
He promised his government full support to the affected families.
The President also thanked all agencies including nongovernmental organizations that are coordinating the humanitarian and relief efforts in the area.
Contingents from Somali National Army 21st division have delivered relief supplies to the city from Dusamareb.
