MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Turkish government has donated military clad to Somali National Army on Wednesday.
The donation includes 60,000 battle dress uniforms and boots from Turkish Armed Forces and 3,862 pieces of clothing equipment to Somali Navy.
The signing ceremony at the Turkish embassy in Mogadishu was attended by Somali Defense Minister, Hassan Mohamed, Chief of Defense forces, General Odowa Rage and Turkish military attaches.
According Turkish officials the commanding general was conducted at Turksom military base compound in Somali capital.
The contribution is part of ongoing Ankara support to the rebuilding and equipment of Somali armed forces.
Defense pact between two states paved way for further training of Somali air force and navy in Istanbul.
The first batch of the much need force are expected to graduate before the end of this year.
The new combat dress for Somali military comes a day after Turkish President, Rajjap Tayyip Erdogan thanked Somalia support in the international arena in the ongoing operation peace spring in Northern Syria against PKK terrorist.
Somalia rejected Arab league resolution condemning Turkish military operation in Syria.
