MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – At least four people were killed, and more than five others were wounded in Mogadishu after car laden with explosive went off on Wednesday afternoon.
The Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Police Force, Colonel Zakia Hussein has confirmed the fatalities via her official Facebook page.
“Four people were killed, and five others were wounded in the Toyota Harrier blast in Dabka junction,” Colonel Zakia posted in her page.
“My condolences to the families of those killed in the attack and wishing a quick recovery for those wounded.”
She requested members of the public to be cautious about where they park their vehicles saying IEDs fitted into cars are becoming frequent in the city while urging them to contact the police force via emergency number 991 for reporting cases.
“I call upon car owners to be extra vigilant on their parking lots, ” she said.
No one has so far claimed the responsibility of the attack, but armed group al-Shabaab is normally blamed for carrying out such an explosion.
