ADDIS ABABA (Halbeeg News)-Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo held talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The meeting which took place on Monday focused on means to strengthen the Horn of Africa regional peace and how to implement economic integration.
In a Twitter post, the office of Ethiopian prime minister said the leaders have also discussed the relations between the two countries.
The leaders agreed to work hand in hand to strengthen the cooperation between the countries.
According to the post, the Somali president appreciated Ethiopia’s support on security.
Ethiopia is among the first troop-contributing countries to the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
An advance team of 100 uniformed personnel arrived in Somalia in 2014 while the other three battalion-strong contingents deployed soon after.
Over 4000 Ethiopian uniformed personnel are now operating in Somalia under the framework of African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
