MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The office of the Benadir governor has suspended Yaqshid district commissioner, Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Gedow over corruption allegations.
In a press statement from the governor’s office and signed by the deputy governor in charge of finance, Hussein Mohamed Noor, the district commissioner, Gedow was suspended saying that he had been involving in financial mismanagement.
According to the statement, his deputy will take over the office in an acting capacity.
Reports say the suspended official is out of the country for an official trip and is yet to comment on his suspension.
The move comes barely three months after Hamarweyn district commissioner; Omar Sharif Jeg was suspended for using what was said to be inappropriate language towards the government and the police force.
