ISLAMABAD (Halbeeg News) – Over 150 Somali from various universities in Pakistan have graduated after the conclusion of their courses.
Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, Ambassador of Somalia to Pakistan, officials from the embassy, representatives from the Somali community and several ambassadors from African countries have the graduation ceremony in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan.
Mr. Tariq Banuri, who was the chief guest has congratulated the students, majority who sponsored by Pakistan government, for their success.
On her part, Somali ambassador said a lot of Somali students graduated from Pakistan and they are now contributing greatly to the Somalian society. Some of them are even reached the highest positions in Somalia.
She noted that around 1500 Somalia students are currently studying in Pakistani universities.
Ms. Almakhzoumi commented Pakistan’s role for hosting Somali students saying the role of HEC was also laudable in this respect.
She welcomed the award of 100 fully-funded scholarships to students from least developed countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The scholarships announced by the Government of Pakistan to boost its educational programme in Africa.
