MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – A man who was convicted of leading the unit behind an October truck bombing has been executed by firing squad.
Hassan Aden Isak, who was also the driver of a car intended to be used in a second bombing on the same day was sentenced to death last month by a military court in the capital, Mogadishu.
His execution coincides with the first anniversary of the 14 October truck bombing which claimed lives of 500 people.
Al-Shabab has not claimed responsibility for the attack but Somali government officials blamed Al-Shabaab though the group did not claim the attack due to the negative public reaction.
