RIYADH (Halbeeg News) – Saudi on Tuesday condemned IED bomb blast in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
At least three people were said to be civilians were killed when a suicide bomb car hit European Union (EU) convoy near the country’s Defense Ministry headquarters.
“The Foreign Ministry expressed Saudi Arabia’s strong condemnation of the bombing that targeted an EU convoy in the Somali capital Mogadishu,” Saudi said in a statement.
The Kingdon condoled with families and relatives of the attack.
“The Kingdom’s categorical rejection of all manifestations of violence, terrorism, and extremism regardless of motives and reasons, offering condolences to the families of the victims, the government and the people of the sisterly Republic of Somalia and wishes for speedy recovery for the injured,” Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry also said that Saudi “will continue to stand by the Somali people and its Government in the fight against terrorism and in providing stability”.
In a statement, EU said no Italian soldiers were injured in the bomb blast in Mogadishu.
“A convoy of the EU Training Mission in Somalia was hit in Mogadishu. No personnel of EUTM (European Union Training Mission in Somalia) were injured,” EU said in the statement.
The attack was claimed by Al-Shabaab fighters.
