BOSASO (Halbeeg News) – Unidentified gunmen have killed a soldier and injured two others in Bosaso town of northeastern Somalia on Monday.
Two men armed with pistols have reportedly attacked the town’s local government headquarters.
Reports say a soldier attached to Puntland Presidential Guards was killed and two others were wounded in the attack.
Sources that Puntland President Abdiweli Ali Gaas was inspecting the offices of Bossaso local government during the attack.
The assailants escaped from the scene before the security forces arrived.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack though Al-Shabaab previously staged similar attacks in parts of the country.
The attack comes on the heel of security operations in Bosaso town which nabbed several Al-Shabaab and ISIS suspects.
