HARGEISA (Halbeeg News) – Abdikani Yasin Mohamed, the personal Secretary of Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister has been freed following two weeks in a jail in Hargeisa town, northern Somalia.
Mr. Mohamed was arrested last month after Somaliland security forces raided his house in Hargeisa town.
Somaliland authorities said the personal Secretary of the deputy prime minister was detained for staying Somaliland illegally
According to sources, Mr. Mohamed was released on Tuesday after elders intervention.
He is expected to be deported to Mogadishu where he had been working since he was employed by Somali Deputy premier last year.
Somaliland in the northwest declared independence from the rest of Somalia in 1991 but has since failed to win international recognition
