BAIDOA( Halbeeg News)- Southwest state president Sharif Hassan Sheikh has received UN Women country director for Somalia, Faduma Dayib at his office on Tuesday.
Ms. Dayib who was leading UN delegates arrived in Baidoa town where she to hold talks with women leaders and officials from Southwest administration.
President Sharif and Ms. Dayib discussion focused on a wide range issues including human rights, women empowerment among others.
The UN official commended the leader of Southwest for the warm welcome which his administration extended to her delegation.
For his part, Mr. Sharif briefed the delegates on his administration’s commitment to implement the 30% women quota.
The meeting was also attended by the speaker of Southwest Assembly, Abdikadir Sharif Sheikhuna, his two deputies and several Southwest ministers.
Ms. Dayib who was recently appointed for the post of UN Women country director for Somalia was the first woman to run for the president of Somalia in 2016.
