MOGADISHU(Halbeeg News)- The prime minister of federal government of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khayre opened the conference National Economic Council in Mogadishu on Saturday.
The council will be tasked to give advises on economic and financial to the federal government that is making efforts to develop the economy of the country that is recovering from over two decades of civil war.
Nine officials, five Somalis and four international exerts with vast experiences on economy were appointed to lead the council. The experts worked with organizations like UN and World Bank.
Speaking during the ceremony, Prime Minister Khayre advised the team of experts to put their efforts together and come up with ideas that will boost economic growth and bring in promising incomes to the country.
“It is our responsibility and the National Economic Council to lead to the growth of income for every Somali citizen and create new jobs in order to get a lasting solution for the unemployed Somali youths,” PM Khayre said.
Somali prime minister advised Somalis to work hard so as to increase income and production.
“The average earning per person can be achieved by increasing the working hours, providing staff with training and also providing tools that enable them to fulfill their obligations to gain an increase of their skills and knowledge.”
PM Khayre also said his government will liberate all the rich agricultural areas under control Al-shabab fighters so to revive the production of these areas and boost the economy of the country.
