HARGEISA Three people died Monday evening after a car rammed into shops in Abarso locality which lies 20km away from the administrative capital of Somaliland, Hargeisa.
The vehicle was ferrying khat from Wajale town to Hargeisa when it lost breaks at a slope at the premises.
Three victims died on the spot while nine others were to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Police arrived at the scene and launch a probe into the incident.
Police said the driver was arrested and the vehicle impounded.
“The breaks of the car might have failed leading to the accident but we are conducting investigations to know exactly what happened,” the police said.
