MOGADISHU (Halbeeg) – President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has dismissed Banadir Appeal Court on Friday, according to a statement from the Office of the President.
Salah Sheikh Ibrahim, who served the office for two years, was dismissed as a part of Mr Farmajo’s plan for judicial reform.
Mr Farmajo named Abshir Omar Abdullahi as his replacement.
Ibrahim was appointed the Banadir Regional Appeal Court in June 2016 by former president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
The President also appointed Muse Moalim Mohamed as Benadir Regional Court judge.
Mohamed will replace Aweys Sheikh Abdullahi who has been serving the office since the post-transitional government.
Since taking office last February, President Farmajo has promised to initiate drastic changes to many of Somalia’s vital institutions.
