The president of the federal republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and delegation arrived Djibouti to attend the forum of China-Africa cooperation which opened in Djibouti.
On reaching the airport, president Farmajo and his delegation were received by Djiboutian prime minister, Abdikadir Kamil Mohamed and diplomats in Somalia’s embassy in Djibouti.
The three days summit ( 5-7) will focus on implementation of free economic zone, Investment and strengthening economic infrastructure and other issues of great importance to Africa and China.
President Farmajo attended the opening of international free trade center in Djibouti, the presidents of Sudan, Djibouti, Rwanda, prime minister of Ethiopia and the chairman of African Union were also in attendance.
President Farmajo is accompanied by the ministers of foreign affairs, Finance, commerce and industries, state minister for defense among others.
Giving a brief speech at the event, president Farmajo said the move of establishing the center shows the readiness of Djibouti to join the competition aimed at boosting the economy of the region.
China-Africa strategic partnership has been steadily strengthened with good progress made in the practical cooperation between the two sides.
China’s investment in Africa has grown steadily and extended to more sectors. the direct investment made by Chinese companies in Africa totaled US$ 1 billion.
